I founded Brainbox Marketing in 2015 because I enjoy helping businesses to grow.
I first started working in a family business when I was eight years old. Don’t worry, it wasn’t child labour, I was free to play like other kids if I wanted to. But I was fascinated by the workings of small business and I saw first hand how much hard work it takes to run a business successfully.
I went on to study business, marketing and journalism at university. While the theory was good, the practical experience I gainedworking part-time in small businesses gave me a better understanding.
In 2000, I joined an accounting firm as a business advisor. While I was working with the bean counters I learned how to read a P&L and balance sheet, interpret financial ratios and understand that assets must generate income. I combined the financial knowledge with my marketing skills to help small businesses grow, which I found deeply satisfying.
Since then, I have worked with ASX100 corporations on websites, sales incentives, communications campaigns, launch events, tenders and pitches. Working with large corporations has given me experience with multi-disciplinary teams on big projects with a larger budget. I have worked with technical specialists, such as web developers, business leads such as HR and marketing and C suite executives.
